Membership
Membership is open to anyone interested in using their personal radio services equipment (GMRS, CB, FRS, MURS, etc) or Amateur Radio Service equipment to provide volunteer communications services in emergencies and in public service. Any required FCC licenses for the radio equipment used must be obtained and maintained by the member. GMRS licensees must sign an additional agreement to be granted access to the team repeater, but there is currently no additional cost for this privilege. Prospective members must have no felony criminal record and must be eligible under FCC rules to operate the appropriate radio service in the United States. These requirements vary from one radio service to another, but generally include either citizenship or legal residence and not being an agent of a foreign government. Current dues are $6 to the local team, $20 to REACT International. Members receive the REACTER magazine from REACT International and the PGNINER newsletter from the local team. Contact us or visit one of our meetings to obtain an application form. We ask prospective members to attend at least three regular meetings before being affirmed as full members.
